The Guinness Book of World Records states that a set worth $2,000,000 and made of 23-carat gold, with rubies and sapphires atop the chimneys of the houses and hotels, is the most expensive Monopoly set ever produced.[92] This set was designed by artist Sidney Mobell to honor the game's 50th anniversary in 1985.
