Yaeba (八重歯?) is a term used to describe human teeth, especially upper canines, with an uncommonly fang-like appearance. In Japan it is perceived as a sign of youthfulness. For that reason, undergoing a body modification procedure to produce such an appearance for cosmetic purposes is gaining popularity among Japanese females, but cosmetic alterations to teeth have been practiced for centuries among many cultures throughout the world.
